LSMTA is an association of teachers based on science and mathematics in Lesotho and LSMTA in full is Lesotho Science and Mathematics Teachers Association (LSMTA).

The Lesotho Science and Mathematics Teachers Association (LSMTA) plays important role in science fair competitions in Lesotho, learners of primary, secondary and high schools take part in these competitions creating their own projects giving out their ideas based on applications of science, mathematics and technology and making research.

These science fair competitions are held each an every year and are held in district and national science fairs. Learners who win district science fair shall compete in national science fair and all district or national science fair competition winners get medals as their motivation and these competitions are sponsored by companies.

The Lesotho Science and Mathematics Teachers Association (LSMTA) motivates learners in science and mathematics subjects performance. All learners are allowed to participate in these competitions if they are willing to and they are given chance to give out their ideas.

Learners can think of any project that can solve problems in future for example, making a project that can solve the continuing problem of global warning which is the main issue the whole world. So, learners can think how they can solve this problem proving all possible resources or materials that can be used in their project.

This project was made by us to take part in 2015 science fair and I am talking about it because it was our project trying to come with the idea how global warming can be resolved. Furthermore, the project was not first time to be presented in science fairs by the same learners, it was presented earlier 2015 and failed but in 2015 it passed district competitions in Mapoteng High School Berea.
